The Issues
South Carolina is facing some BIG CHALLENGES.

Core Issues We Face in SC
our children
As a former prosecutor, Mandy has seen first hand the problems with the Department of Social Services and their lack of accountability. There is no excuse for DSS to place children in the homes of those who have been sexual abusers. DSS is losing needed federal funding for not requiring automated child support enforcement . This money can be vital to additional reforms needed to clean up the agency.
INfrastructure
As an attorney, Mandy works with clients to advocate for their needs. That’s what we need — a representative who will actively work in Columbia to ensure the road funding in this state goes to districts in need like House District 97. We have a ton of roads that have been destroyed by big trucks and rampant growth, and we need to stop that. We must put state laws in place to ensure road improvements occur with development — not decades later.
ethics reform
Recent indictments and convictions of some of our state’s top leaders show the need to continue to clean up and reform our ethics laws in this state. At one time, South Carolina was applauded for having the toughest ethics laws in the country, but over time, people learned how to game the system. That must stop, and we must continue to toughen our laws to ensure our elected officials are doing the people’s business, not lining their own pockets.
Education
Teacher burnout is at an all-time high. The pay per hour ends up being too low, too many kids are in the classroom, and the mandated regulations are driving good teachers out of the profession. We need to ensure we have state programs and resources for the local districts that attract and retain the highest quality talent for our schools.
2nd amendment
Our gun rights are under attack. We need a representative who is a strong supporter of the right to bear arms. It is not gun ownership that is the problem. As a prosecutor, Mandy has seen first hand the need for better mental health treatment. We need to remove the stigma of mental illness in an effort to get those who need help prior to becoming dangerous criminals.
wasteful spending
Donec porta mi non malesuada pulvinar. Etiam est velit, porta in lectus feugiat, congue condimentum dui. Nulla lorem augue, pellentesque a ipsum nec, blandit molestie erat. Morbi hendrerit, lectus at finibus accumsan. Nullam pharetra mollis ultricies. Sed id magna lobortis, facilisis ante nec, ultrices metus. Praesent leo risus, interdum id eros ac convallis.
